For today’s Family First Site, I thought we would take a nostalgic trip through the Family Site of the Day archives, and visit one of our earliest featured sites. In fact, it was the third site we featured, way back on January 22nd, 1997. It is kind of ironic that this site from the history of Family First Site is itself about history.
Called The History Channel, it is the online companion to this popular cable television network. Here you will find not only a schedule of programming, but links and features that compliment the programs you can view. There is a daily “This Day in History” feature highlighting historic events from the current day. There is an audio section that daily highlights a famous speech that is historically relevant, where you can hear from such a wide variety of people such as Winston Churchill, William Jennings Bryan, Amelia Earhardt, and Babe Ruth.
There is such a wide variety of information here it is hard to tell all about it in a few paragraphs. But this is a site worth bookmarking, and returning to. It is sites such as this that show the true power of the Internet.
